JUST SITTING AROUND!

Carter is growing up right in front of my eyes. Growing in leaps and bounds and developing so quickly. He has 2 teeth trying to come in on the bottom, and he stays sitting up all by himself. It is a hard pill to swallow realizing that your baby is quickly growing up and growing more independent everyday. Knowing that he is my last little one, well I am having a hard time with it. It may be the lack of sleep or the non-stop crying from teething making me a little emotional.

Tucker's summer break is quickly coming to an end. He returns to school on Sept. 3rd and he cannot wait. When he is home all he talks about is going to school. He talks about his friends and talks about his teachers. It makes me wonder if he ever talks about his family when he is at school.

Here are a few pics of Carter doing his newest accomplishment...

Carter loves playing with this fishbowl, it was his big brothers.
Sitting up so well.
What sits up, must fall down...Timber!
I'm okay Mom!
I pick myself up, I dust myself off, and try all over again!
My newest favorite thing to watch.
Not too much going on in the Morris household these days, just in a holding pattern until school starts. Buffalo Wingfest is this weekend, and it is known throughout the country as the best wing festival ever. We go every year, sometimes twice.
Just a quick prayer request if you don't mind. We had an interesting doctor's appointment the other day with Carter and there is some concern about something that I would rather keep private until we know for sure. We will be waiting for about a month biting our nails to know for sure, but if you could just pray that every member of our family remains strong and healthy, we would appreciate it. Thanks!

THE BEST VACATION EVER!

This year's vacation has come to an end. It was one of the best vacations I have ever had. I am not sure if it was the weather, my family, the fact that I could get in the water this year, or all of the aforementioned. All I know is that I hated to see it end. We started our vacation last Friday when we left our house with car packed to the brim headed for Virginia to see my family. We made it there in 10 hours and the boys were wonderful in the car. Carter only cried once for a few minutes. I am blessed with well traveling boys. We spent the night at my parents house before heading out Saturday morning for Topsail Island, NC. We stay at the Villa Capriani every year. We love everything about it. It has 3 pools, one with a waterfall, 2 hot tubs, and a beautiful beach. We stay in an oceanfront condo with an excellent view on the balcony where we watched the shrimp boats pass by every morning with the dolphins in tow hoping to catch a few shrimp that slipped through the nets.

Tucker enjoyed playing with his Uncle May-Make (Mason) more than he enjoyed anything else. I thought that he would be excited to see the ocean, and don't get me wrong he was excited, but May-Make topped it all. Tucker made huge strides this week with swimming. He started by dipping his head under the water, then progressed to taking off his life jacket and swimming above water, and conquered swimming under the water life jacket free on the last day.

Carter enjoyed what most babies enjoy. Eating, sleeping, and being spoiled by his grandparents. Though he was not completely oblivious to the ocean. He loved the birds and the people splashing in the pool. He even learned how to splash himself in the face and laugh hysterically.

The week was wonderful and Carter even allowed us to get more than 1 hour of sleep. I think it was the fresh air. Tucker wants to go to school now that we are back but doesn't understand that there is a break between summer and fall sessions. So he is stuck with Carter and I for 2 weeks.
But as wonderful as the week was, it ended in sadness. My Dad (John's not Allen's) mom died on Friday. My Nannie had been getting progressively worse over the years and had no one in town to take care of her. She was in a nursing home in VA and was lonely. She aged quickly after my dad died in April 2002 and was not ever the same again. I will miss her dearly.

LAST BLOG BEFORE VACATION!

We are headed to Topsail Island, NC on Friday with my family. We are so excited! Just thought I would post a few pictures of recent happenings in our house before we go.

Tucker, can you show me that song again please?
This is Carter's friend Jack. Jack is 9 months old-Carter is 5 months old. Yes they are the same size.
Tucker found the thing that you put in the grocery cart for babies. I don't know what he thought it was, but he loved wearing it.
And this is poor Tucker yesterday. I picked him up from school due to a 103 degree fever. He has a virus that will go away in a few days, but it hurts his throat really bad. But he isn't complaining about the ice cream and pudding for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

So with Carter hamming it up and Tucker on his way to a full recovery, we are packing up for vacation. Will post more when we get back. Have a good week!

A RHINO, A BROTHER, AND A POPPY TOO

Let me start by saying that I now truly appreciate my new camera after having used my old camera today. The old one is light and portable, but the quality of the pictures is nothing compared to the Nikon D60. No amount of touching up is going to bring the Canon Elph up to speed.

Today Carter and I accompanied Tucker and his class on a field trip to the zoo. We picked up Tucker at school and met the class in the picnic area of the zoo. Tucker is among all of the teacher's favorites (I know...you can't have favorites), but they all think he is the sweetest kid ever.

This is Kim, Laura, and Tracy 3 of the many teachers that Tucker sees everyday. Did I mention Aunt Amanda, Cousin Poppy, and Uncle Marc went with us. That's right! We had so much fun!
The happy family at the zoo.
This is one of the newest additions to the zoo. What a cute baby rhino!

Believe it or not, Tucker gave Emma a kiss right before this picture was taken. Move over Willow.
What a happy boy, I had to put this in here.
